This tea shares a common origin with the smoky Lapsang Suchong. Mount Tongmu, in the Wuyi Mountains (North Fujian), is the birthplace of this family of Black teas. However, this is an earlier invention and a much softer version than the famous Lapsong Suchong. The infused tea has a glossy amber colour and is round and subtle, with a texture characteristic of higher elevation teas. Soft and refreshing to the palate, this tea has plenty of fruity (longan and mandarin) and dark chocolatey notes, with the feeling of melting honey as a finale.
