These little curly leaves are made in a very different manner than the more familiar Sencha (needle shape). Tamaryokucha is, in fact, the steamed version of a category of Japanese green tea called Guricha (literally: curly tea). The dry leaves offer a very intense nutty and citrusy scent. Steeped, it produces a shiny gleaming young green liquor. The nutty and seaweed-like notes will evolve in your mouth, leaving a refreshing touch of chlorophyll to the palate.
